Dr Gunarathne is a Consultant Cardiologist in Coronary & Structural Interventions at University Hospital Nottingham NHS Trust. He is the service lead for Left Atrial Appendage Program Occlusion (LAAO) program and Co-operator for the percutaneous Mitral Valve Intervention service at University hospital Nottingham NHS trust.

He is affiliated to University of Nottingham as an honorary assistant Professor and Cardiology Lead for the medical student undergraduate teaching program. He completed two years of academic research leading to many first author publications and book chapters & was awarded a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from the University of Birmingham.

Internship in Paediatrics and Obs & Gynae – Prof Unit, Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya 2001-2002. Gayathri did the Postgraduate training in Histopathology –Faculty of Medicine and Prof Unit, Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya 2003-2010. Currently a consultant in Cellular Pathology and the Lead Pathologist for cervical screening programme and clinical director of Pathology - Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, High Wycombe.

She is also an examiner at Royal College of Pathologists, an Educational Supervisor for Cellular Pathology PG trainees in Oxford Deanery, the Educational supervisor for Sri Lankan PG trainees on MTI scheme and a member of College of Pathologists of Sri Lanka.

Hewa is a General Practitioner at Moxley Medical Centre West Midlands, England, United Kingdom.

Kanthi was a Senior lecturer in Paediatrics in the Professorial Unit North Colombo Medical Faculty. Was former Sectary College of Paediatrics in Sri Lanka.

She is currently Consultant Community Paediatrician- North East London Foundation Trust

After holding house officer posts in the Department of Health, she became a Lecturer in Anatomy in the Faculty from 1969 to 1970 when she left for the UK for postgraduate training. She returned to Sri Lanka in 1975 and re-joined the Faculty as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology which position, she vacated in 1983 to return to the UK. From 1985 to 2011, she was a General Medical Practitioner in Purley, Surrey.

She was the President of the Sri Lanka Medical and Dental Association from 1999 responsible for organising regular clinical meetings in Surrey, helping to raise the profile of the SLMDA – 2000. She was as well bring in much needed funds for its many activities at the time.

After retirement, she has been spending her time travelling, reading, writing, gardening and keeping fit. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Dr Radhakrishnan was the past President of PeMSAA-UK June 2017 - September 2021 and Vice President of Medical Students Association in 1979.

Dr Radhakrishnan was a GP Partner, Trainer and Associate Postgraduate Dean and Cambridgeshire Patch Director followed by Essex Patch Director at Health Education East of England (HEEoE) from 2006 – until mid 2019. He was the Vice Chair of the United Kingdom Conference of Educational Advisors (UKCEA) and an External Advisor to RCGP on Quality Management of national GP training assessments.

He is a Visiting Honorary Fellow of University of Peradeniya and also one of the overseas members of the Sri Lanka Journal of Medicine (SLJM) Editorial Board. Krish was the founding President of the new PeMSAA-UK

Mike was the Editor of the Medical Students Association.

He was a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist and has worked in many forensic settings including

Broadmoor Hospital. Currently working as a member of Parole Board and Tribunal Service, Mental Health.

Known as “Lal” in the faculty and was the final year batch representative

Currently working as Consultant in critical care and chronic pain in Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital.

Prof. DYD Samarawickrama graduated from the University of Ceylon, Peradeniya 1968. He was a Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry and Dental Materials Science at the Dental Faculty, Peradeniya, from 1975 to 1983. He is currently an Emeritus Professor at Queen Mary University of London where he has spent more than 40 years of his career.

He is the President of the Commonwealth Dental Association. He has worked for organisations such as the WHO, the Pan American Health Organisation and advised several Commonwealth governments on dental education and oral health strategies. He has been an examiner for many universities in the UK and overseas. He lectures widely in his own imitable style.

His many accolades include the Award for the Best Dental Teacher (UK and Ireland, 2008), the Geoffrey Slack Medal for Outstanding Service to Dental Education (Queen Mary, 2012) and the Honorary Life Membership of the British Dental Association (2018) in recognition of his exceptional contribution to dentistry nationally and internationally.

He is passionate about education because it is the best gift one can give as it can change lives.

Written 10 booklets for Sri Lankan patients- 'Your Essential Guide Series'- 2005. Co-ordinator - 'Lanka Hospital Needs'- Association of Professional Sri Lankans (APSL-UK) 2006-2011.
